ARC Outdoors / Wild Imagination
is a nature based educational program for Black youth age 5-8 on unceded Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nation territories.

This project is a collaboration between Arts, Roots & Culture Community School, Legacy Growers Collective, and UBC Farm, established in 2020. It engages learners in belonging to the land through outdoor education, art, and play. This spring focuses on farming, cultural food and story, biodiversity and environmental knowledge. We aim to equip our learners with the tools they need to steward the land, listen to the land, build scientific skills such as plant identification, pollinator awareness, and medicine making, while also building crucial social and emotional skills such as communication, creativity, intuition, compassion and collaboration.
